Key Background
State Employees’ Credit Union of Maryland (SECU) has selected Mantl’s Consumer Deposit Origination platform to enhance and accelerate its online account opening process.
The project is to offer a better user experience by allowing new members to open a deposit account within less than five minutes with less friction without compromising security and compliance.
Mantl’s architecture optimizes key elements of account onboarding, including real-time identity validation, anti-money laundering (AML) screening, and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance. This delivers SECU with rigorous regulatory compliance combined with easy and rapid user experience. The roll-out is a step towards customer engagement and business process redesign in the competitive credit union space.
SECU had already integrated Alkami’s digital banking platform into its services. The addition of Mantl, an Alkami company, strengthens that partnership and allows SECU to unify its digital offerings under one technological ecosystem. By enhancing its digital infrastructure, SECU aims to deliver a comprehensive, secure, and intuitive experience for both new and existing members.
SECU Executive Vice President and Chief Infrastructure and Experience Officer Jason Reimer outlined how the credit union remains member first through the leverage of new and new technologies. The Mantl partnership is proof of SECU’s long-term commitment to addressing evolving member expectations and advancing banking innovation. As digitally-native financial products become increasingly a consumption choice among consumers, this effort further positions SECU as a cutting-edge financial institution which maximizes value through technology.
